LA Guns frontman Phil Lewis criticized Vince Neil Mötley Crüe singer's performances went viral .

He was interviewed on TotallydrivenTV 's The Bay Ragni Show , where Lewis was asked how he managed to maintain the quality of his voice, while many of his colleagues did not. After praising Sebastian Bach and Tom Kiefer for taking care of their voices, he went on to talk about his own methods for staying in shape. And then, his attention turned to what happened to Neil.

“I run, so I’ve always had great lung capacity and a loud, irritating voice,” said Phil Lewis. “So, those things served me very, very well. And, you know, on the rowing machine, building up the resistance, because… I wouldn’t say I’m training, but I haven’t done anything for two years. I don’t want to be shocked.”

Lewis explains that he doesn't want to end up like his peers are at the moment, being caught off guard mid-show because they're not in shape.

“It was regrettable to see the lead vocalist of the headliner on The Stadium unable to sing four songs. As a vocalist, as a singer, you have a responsibility to do your job, especially if you are such a big name. […] It takes work. It takes discipline,” he stated.

In June, Vince Neil returned to the stage with his own band, but was unable to complete the set. In September, former Mötley Crüe vocalist John Corabi took to social media to dismiss rumors that he was being considered to replace Neil on the following year's tour with Def Leppard , Poison , and Joan Jett .
